Nevertheless, Flowers Regrow

A Participatory Installation

What would happen if we came together to transform the lingering grief, pain, and sorrow within our hearts into something new—something capable of becoming light and renewable energy for our shared future?

This participatory installation was conceived to invite participants to write down their unspoken burdens, anxieties, and lingering wounds onto paper. Through a curated communal process, these individual notes were transformed and assembled over four days into a collective, evolving artwork.

At the close of the festival, the installation was dismantled and repurposed as Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF)—literally transmuting emotional weight and discarded paper into clean energy. This participatory project forms part of an ongoing creative research initiative and the documentary film The Flowers Will Regrow.
