In the Womb of Light
Certain places and spaces linger in a state of suspended vitality—deprived of light, air, and nourishing energy—gradually draining the drive and hope of the living beings who inhabit them.
I chose the form of the gourd (Nam Tao), which in Lanna mythology symbolizes the primeval cradle of life. Resembling a mother’s womb, it stands as a sacred vessel of protection, nurturing, growth, and fertility.
This work is an offering of illumination, breath, and renewed hope. It invites audiences to contemplate the profound continuum of existence: the delicate rhythm between birth, growth, decay, and rebirth.
